you can't storyboard a smile

The next phrase in Ad Age's interview with Neil French caught my attention: "I’m well-known for being as outrageous as I can to make the point that I want to make. Advertising is hyperbole and I exercise hyperbole as much as I can, but I laugh when I’m doing it. You can’t storyboard a smile, as somebody said." I simply love the last sentence.

Well, the exact quote is:
"Can you really judge an idea from a storyboard? How do you storyboard a smile?
And it was the great Bill Bernbach who said it.
