some days ago, i went to the launching of Andre Moreau's new book (i couldn't find its english version, but i guess the title in english would go something like "Come to terms with your past in order to live present better"), and something among the things Andre Moreau said drew my attention. Namely that Freud (yes, the same guy who said that America is a giant mistake) considered that psychoanalysis would never appeal to Americans or have any impact on them, because they are only interested in changing things, and not getting to their core and understanding. This idea of being interested in changing, without trying to understand first got me thinking.
